Mimi o Sumaseba/If You Listen Closely is an orginal manga created by Aoi Hiiragi. It was later turned into an animated movie known also as Whisper(s) of the Heart by Studio Ghibli; directed by Yoshifumi Kondo (1950-1998), screenplay written and produced by Hayao Miyazaki.
The story follows Shizuku, a bibliophile with a knack for songwriting. Her penchant for these two things introduces her to amazing characters and fascinating new possiblities; all of which help her to better understand who she truly is.
A beautifully woven tale about self-discovery, first love, and trying to find one's place in the world.
