BUTLER

Domovoi Butler comes from a long line of Butlers who serve as bodyguards. Butler’s charge is Artemis Fowl II and has been so since Artemis was born. Butler takes his job very seriously, making him extremely good at his profession. While he was taught that there should be nothing between his Principal and him, Butler looks to Artemis as more than an obligation. They are extremely close to each other , and Artemis is only one of two people who are of fundamental importance to Butler -- his sister, Juliet, being the other.

Butler’s first name isn’t revealed until book 3 (The Eternity Code). Domovoi is a name of Slavic origin mostly associated with Russian folklore. A domovoi is a house spirit who protects the home in which they inhabit. Usually not a malicious being, however, if made unhappy they respond with mischievous tricks that slowly escalate in nature if they continue to be unhappy. There are spirits with similar characteristics in other culture’s folklores.

ARTEMIS FOWL SERIES

Follows a genius, pre-adolescent (for now), Irish lad on his never-ending quest to acquire as much wealth as possible. Most of his elaborate schemes revolve around the “fairy folk”. Currently there are four books out: Artemis Fowl, Artemis Fowl: The Artic Incident, Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code, and Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception. There is also The Artemis Fowl Files, which contains side stories.

There is a movie coming out at some point...

SITE INFORMATION

A very simplistic layout. As I've yet to see an official rendering of Butler, I was hoping to use an image of the actor chosen to portray him in the movie. However, the movie keeps being pushed back, and they haven't released a list of the cast members. I suppose I could have gone with someone of my choosing, but I decided otherwise.

Fonts used are Georgia, Impact, Verdana, Engravers MT (I think), SF Intermosaic B, and Tahoma. Images from the first two 50x50 codes are from Gettyone and the third comes from a random google search.

I'm hoping to eventually turn this into a fansite.
